After about 2 minutes, the brown rice was reduced to what you see in this second image. Not too shabby! A few grains and bits remained but all in all, a successful grinding. I am certain that I could have reduced the whole lot to a powdered flour but I was a bit pressed for time and other things I needed to attend to.
Do these biscuits crumble or break or otherwise pose any choking hazards?
For good measure, I put the biscuits in a glass of water and let them soak overnight. Surprisingly, the biscuits did not deterioirate in the water and I had to give a very hard squeeze to get them to break apart. However this does not mean that they will be 100% safe from crumbling or breaking. Every teething biscuit, whether store bought or homemade, has the potential to crumble and break off into little bits and therefore pose a choking hazard to your little one. It is very very very important to always watch your baby when you are feeding him/her any type of food that has the potential to be a choking hazard and always always ensure that your baby is sitting upright when eating any type of finger food; sitting and eating in a semi-reclined highchair is a no-no for example.
