The benefits of meditation have been found to be quite valid with results stating that the practice can cut heart attack and stroke risks and deaths by upwards of 50%.

Not only that but it has been shown to reduce high blood pressure, cholesterol, thickening of the artries and even the ravages of diabetes.

Dr. Norman Rosenthal from the National Institute of Mental Health stated, “This is a seminal finding,” and added, “The prevention of heart attack and stroke and actual lengthening of lifespan by alternative treatment method is exceedingly rare if not unprecedented.”

It was at the Medical College of Wisconsin that followed 201 men and women averaging around 59 years of age whod been suffering from narrowing of the arteries in their hearts for a period of around nine years or so.

The group was split in half with some doing meditation. Miraculously, the ones who engaged in meditation cut their risk of dying or having a heart attack by 47 percent.

Hold on theres more, the data from the study mirrors that of the effects of transcendental meditation handling other problems like insulin resistance, psychological stress, atherosclerosis, and more.

Its quite obvious that this information is not to be sneezed at and the researchers say that meditation should be part of a persons regular medical treatment.
