If you live in one of the Heartland states, youre probably already familiar with the Taco Johns® family of restaurants. And while some people don’t think Mexican and healthy go together, this dietitian has found many ways to celebrate at the Taco Johns® page on HealthyDiningFinder.com. It is time to visit Taco Johns® for a wide range of delicious meal choices. Taco Johns® offers tacos, burritos and chili, and even has a breakfast menu!

For a limited time only, Taco Johns® has launched a Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap! At less than 500 calories (460 to be exact), this wrap includes chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and just enough cheddar cheese, bacon, and ranch dressing to add a bit of crunch and creaminess. Providing 25 grams of protein, this high-protein meal is made on a Whole Wheat Wrap, so it is also a good source of fiber, too! For those of you who may want to cut back a little more on calories, fat, and sodium, simply load up on the veggies and skip the bacon and cheese adding a bit more fiber too – great for a filling and nutritious meal!

Not sure what you will choose? Taco Johns® also offers a variety of options that provide about 300 calories or less and under 10 grams of fat! These options include the Crispy taco, Chicken Softshell Taco, Bean Burrito and Chili (remember your beans – they are high in fiber and no saturated fat!). You can even spice it up some more while keeping calories at bay by adding some salsa or Pico de Gallo from their Salsa Bar. This quick and easy addition is a perfect way to add some extra antioxidants (who doesn’t need a few more of those!) and flavor.
